If you’re stuck for where to go on your summer holidays, On the Beach can help to provide some inspiration.
Spain may seem somewhat predictable in terms of your holiday, yet the country has a lot of hidden gems if you dare to go off the beaten track. Here are some reasons to visit Spain this summer.
La Tomatina (27th August)
La Tomatina is a food fight festival held once a year every August in Bunol, near Valencia. Thousands of people travel from all around the world in order to take part in this festival where over one hundred metric tons of tomatoes are thrown in the streets.
Benicassim Festival (17th-20th July)
Admittedly, this one isn’t so much off the beaten track but it IS one of the best festivals in the world. It takes place on the East coast between Valencia and Barcelona and features some of the world’s best artists. However, it is right on the beach so its advisable not to camp unless you can cope with heat!
Radio One’s Weekend in Ibiza (1-3rd August)
This one’s for the ravers. The famous Radio One weekend in Ibiza returns this year. Often seen as the peak of the season, the event attracts some of the hottest DJ’s and artists in the world and best of all, it’s free!
There’s plenty to see and do in Spain, so don’t dismiss it as the place for your summer holiday! Think tapas, long winding back streets that lead to sandy beaches and nights spent watching the Flamenco.
